Four year old Paige Bennethum really, really didn’t want her Daddy to go to Iraq. So much so that when Army Reservist Staff Sgt. Brett Bennethum lined up in formation at his deployment in july, she couldn’t let go. No one had the heart to pull her away. I have a four year old too, and I can only imagine the knot in his throat at that moment. This photo really touched my heart. Being a soldier who secures the freedoms of all is a very hard thing to do. Leaving your family behind to do it… Unimaginable.
